ENVIRONMENTAL SIGNAGE

Environmental signage for the first cross laminated timber (CLT) building in San Francisco. The building branding utilizes dots to play off of the history of the location, which was once a gravel yard.

The lobby features massive walls made out of CLT and perforated with a dot pattern. As you enter the space, the first wall you see is backlit with colorful LED lights.

The entry signage is based off of the logo, a 1 constructed from circles. The first step in designing the entry sculpture was to make a scaled model out of foam spheres, wire, and foam core. As you move past the sculpture, it changes shape and the 1 only appears as your are about to enter the building.

Sketchup, a 3D modeling program, allowed me to create a rendering that we could view from all angles.

The entry address is created with 1 1/4" deep internal LED lit letters with white acrylic faces.
